Time to Catch you up on our Lives!

Okay, so I know that it has been a while since I have posted but it has been crazy busy in the Petersen house! I have been working on a project for the past month but in the last two weeks I have spent all of my extra time on it (this means no blogging). I finally got it done last night, my mom came over at 9:00 in the morning to help me with Kaden and didn't leave until 10:00 at night but I am happy to say that we finished it! I will let you know what it is as soon as I can, it is a gift and I am not sure if that person looks at my blog or not.
Kaden is getting so big and is doing so many new things! He started licking his arm sleeves, it is so funny to see him get his arm up so he lick it. When he gets tired he will lick anything that he can, the blanket, the pillow on his swing, and mom's shirt! He is so fun to watch.

Since Kaden was sick we had to give him "THE PINK STUFF" Yuck!
It was such a challenge at times to actually get it in his mouth, as you can see
most of it ended up all over him and his clothes.
His bath was definitely needed after that dose!
I am glad to say that he is feeling better and we don't have to deal with giving medicine to him along with a bath three times a day!
I have one random post for all of you! Last Sunday I felt that we had nothing in our house for breakfast (you know those days where you have food in your house but nothing sounds good so you make the excuse that you have nothing to eat, yeah this was one of those Sunday's)
I decided that the only food in our house to eat was a cheese crisp! I decided I was going to make myself a cheese crisp for breakfast (Jake hates when I eat stuff like this for breakfast, he doesn't feel that you should start your day out like this). Before I started making it I decided I don't care what Jake says I am going to make one anyways!
I asked if he would like one, because if he would I would make him one also! He went through his speech on why cheese crisps are not suppose to be eaten before 9:00 AM and advised me that it would not be a good idea to eat one for breakfast and he did not want one! Remember I didn't care what Jake said I was going to make myself one anyways and I did! Not only did I make myself one I actually splurged and made myself two. Not too long after I sat down with my two cheese crisps and Ketchup I saw that Jake kept glancing over and admiring my breakfast! So being the nice wife that I am I offered up one of mine so he could also take part in eating the most delicious breakfast EVER! (Well just that day!)

Kaden has been a little spoiled these day's since he got sick. He has decided that he doesn't need to take a nap and that he can stay up all day long!
Well the problem with this is that he is a grouch if he doesn't have a nap!
So to get him to sleep we have to go on walks after walks, we decided that we needed to get things done around the house so this is what we have had to do- put him in the Baby carrier and just work away!
(and I don't know why I am not losing my weight- Those dang cheese crisps!)

It is Christmas time a little early in the Petersen's home! We set up Christmas the week before Thanksgiving!
We decided this year that we needed to do it early or we probably wouldn't get it done like last year! I like to set up the Saturday after Thanksgiving but it seems like we just get too busy and don't get around to it! I am so glad that got it up! Last year just wasn't the same with out it!

Kaden is starting to move around! Check it out- We put him in the middle of the blanket and by the time I got up the stairs to get a picture he was already half way off!

And yes he is licking his sleeve the whole time!

Two Month Check Up!

No this time we did not get forgotten about! We went for Kaden's two month appointment. He is in the 50% for everything, his weight is 11lb 14oz, height 22 ¾ in. he is getting big so fast. We happened to have the appointment at the perfect time, the doctor was able to see that his cold was turning into an ear infection. It is not bad, but he did start him on some antibiotics which seem to already have made a difference! To make matters worse he had to get his two month shots, and I was not prepared for that! Jake said that I had a harder time with it then Kaden did, who's mother's heart wouldn't break when the baby is hurting. I have never heard him cry like he did (which I guess is good). I had no clue that Jake had the camera, and while Kaden was getting the shots he thought that it would be funny to take a picture of me (what happened to taking care of our son?) I was not very amused after I found out.

Well Kaden is doing well and the shots didn't even seem to phase him once we were home! At home he didn't stop kicking and smiling, he is such a good baby!

We have some sad news, Jake did catch Kaden's cold. Jake went to the doctor today and found out that he has a sinus infection, start of an ear infection, and bronchitis.

Fun at the Museum

Kaden was able to go to the Museum for the first time. We had so much fun visiting Grandma Bella and getting to show off Kaden! I am worried that when Kaden gets a little older he will see all of the fun things he got to do his first two months of life (not even being able to enjoy it) and wonder why we don't do those fun things all of the time anymore. I guess that I am doing all of these things for my enjoyment more then anyone. I am sure that it will get more fun as he gets older. That will be a goal of mine- To continue to do fun things throughout all of his childhood.

This is Grandma Bella's door, it constantly has pictures rotating through (he is too cute Grandma has a hard time deciding which ones to use)!

I thought that I would post these pictures because they are the only ones that you will see him awake in! (Krystal take note, he is awake finally!)

I am not sure if you can tell in these pictures, but in one he is getting eaten by a dinosaur (and it doesn't even phase him), and the other picture we are sizing his foot against the foot of a dinosaur. Thanks Yvonne for such a fun time!

Petersen's Picnic at the Park

OK, I know the title is a little dorky or a lot dorky, but we had a really fun day today! Jake works at the Mesa clinic all day on Wednesday's so we try to meet up for lunch. We usually just go out to lunch but today we decided to be a little more creative and decided to have a picnic (Oh how we want Kaden to grow up so he can actually enjoy all of our fun activities). I packed our lunch and off we headed to pick up dad from work. Once we got to the park we laid out the blanket and got out our food! It was a perfect day, you have to take advantage of the weather when it is this nice. We were able to just relax and talk (mostly about how fun this will be in a year or two).
I know that this picture maybe a little weird but had to take this picture of Jake. When we first started dating about 5 years ago, I thought that I had come up with a cute idea for a date. I took Jake on a picnic I picked up Chinese food and we headed down to the park, which happened to be the same park we were at today. We had a romantic (or not so romantic dinner) and when we got done eating I surprised Jake with a roll of pennies for the two of us and told him that we were going to make a wish for each penny while throwing it in the water. OK, so I thought that I was creative and cute idea, not so much, Jake and I could not stop laughing as we were doing this, we new that we looked like the biggest dorks and wondered what others thought as two adults flicked penny after penny into the water. Needless to say this is a memory that comes up frequently and gives us a good laugh! Jake will never let me forget, as we come up with fun things to do he always seems to say "I will get the pennies"! All that I have to say 5 years later with the best husband and the cutest little boy is, wishes do come true!

Kaden's Two Months!

I can't believe how fast these two months have gone by, it makes me kind of sad we wish we could keep him small for ever (but, it has been getting more fun with all the new things that he does)! We love our Crazy haired Kaden.

We can now say that Kaden has witnessed is first Sun Devil Win FINALLY! (maybe they are saving their winning season for next year) Good thing Kaden will not have to become a Wildcats fan!

We also have experienced our first cold! This is definitely a learning experience for all of us, I had to learn how to not freak out, Kaden is going to be just fine, Jake needed to learn, well, I don't think Jake needs to learn anything, he has been very calm and helpful, and Kaden needed to learn how to breathe through his mouth (I didn't realize that babies don't breathe through their mouth). On Monday night we laid Kaden down to go to sleep and he started coughing and was not able to take a breath, we picked him up and he would be better so Jake and I took 2 hour shifts holding him. Jake was able to prop him up and stabilized him enough to be able to sleep with him in his arms, me on the other hand tried but every time I would close my eyes he would start to cough uncontrollably. Well we made it through Monday night, Tuesday night, and we are about to start our Wednesday night we have his two month check-up tomorrow so we can be sure that all he has is a cold. Hopefully this won't last too long. I think (or know) that I have been the most effected by it, it just breaks my heart to see him sick. Kaden is still a happy little boy whether sick or not! He wakes up with the biggest smile on his face even though he can't breathe, and of course mommy and daddy wake up exhausted. I guess this is what we have to look forward to as the cold season starts (YUCK)!

Kaden's First Halloween

Kaden's first Halloween was a lot of fun! Thursday we went to our ward's trunk or treat, and of course Kaden slept the entire time!
We were very festive this year (normally we don't do anything for Halloween except pass out candy) and all three of us were dressed apporiatley

Kaden is so entertaining we spent the day and evening just watching Kaden!

Since our other pumpkin wrotted Jake felt that we need a pumpkin out there on Halloween so Jake carved this one! I thought it turned out cute!

And Krystal this one is for you, Kaden slept the whole time we passed out candy!

Kaden was lucky to meet his Uncle Jay and Aunt Nicole for the first time this weekend. It was so much fun to have them down here. We don't know what we are going to do without Jay to bounce him and sing to him all day long! Nicole is prego we can't wait to meet their little guy!
