Zoo, Again!

So, it is starting to get a little hot around here! My mom and I decided to go to the zoo again before it gets to warm. Jake was working on his statistics, he has his final this week, so I asked my mom if she wanted to go with Kaden and I to the zoo, I am not sure how many more nice weekends we are going to have. This time at the zoo, the rhino's were actually up front this time. Every time that we have gone to see them, they are all the way back in the corner sleeping or something. It was a really nice-hot day, the only down fall was that the zoo was packed, we got there at 9:20 and we had to park up in the bus parking lot, and when we left there was absolutely no parking anywhere, I have never been there when it was so busy, We still had a lot of fun.

St. Patricks Day 2009!

Kaden's First St. Patricks Day-
The Leprechaun decided to not come to our home this year to turn our milk green, I am sure that he decided that he should wait till next year when Kaden will be able to take part in the green madness! We all wore our green and enjoyed our day not getting pinched!

Kaden (actually his daddy!) has found a new way to wear his daddy out! Jake decide that it would be fun to put Kaden in this box and create a fun ride right at home (or grandma & grandpa's house) Jake pushed him all around. at first Kaden wasn't sure what to think about it, but by the end he had a smile, along with a death grip on the box (I am not sure if the grip was from excitement or fear?)

Jake is such a fun dad, and will do anything to put a smile on Kaden's face. He will always find a way to make things more exciting in our lives. Kaden and I are so happy for all that he does for us and the joy he brings to our lives!

Aloha Festival!

A patient at work told Jake about the Aloha Festival at Tempe beach park. We thought that it would be fun to take Kaden down there and walk around. We have to take advantage of the nice weather - we are trying to do something out doors every weekend until it gets too hot to be able to even step foot outside! It was so crowded, and hot (you have to build up to the too hot to step outside I guess) but it was still a lot of fun to spend time as a fam!
We were going to attempt to go down the alley of shops with the stroller!
This was the outcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said, it was packed!

We did get to enjoy some fried ice cream and fresh lemonade!
Jake really wanted a plate lunch just like he got in Hawaii- but since it was really hot and there was no place to sit down to eat, I talked Jake in to going to Moki's for lunch.

It was really good, I got a side of chicken, and Jake got his plate lunch!

The Petersen family adventure's has another memory added!

Holy Cow, Time Fly's!

I can't believe our baby is already 6 months old! We went to the doctor on Thursday, and Kaden is doing great. He is such a tiny little guy, weight - 15 lbs 11 oz - 10%, height - 25 in - 10%, and head circumference - ????? (I can't remember) - 75%. I guess so far he has taken after his mom in his height, but lets hope it will change and he will take after his dad in the end! He also had to get his 6 month shots. This round was not so fun, we were at the doctors for 1-1/2 hours, this time we were not forgotten about they say........ but I think that we were (I went up to the desk and said that we had been there for 20 min and people that got there after us had already left). Kaden -along with mom and dad-were just done by the time the doctor got there, and Kaden was really done by the time he was to get his shots! When the nurse put the first shot in Kaden started the cry- you know the one that they don't breathe, yeah, that one! I hate when he gets shots! I am so lucky that Jake was able to come with us so I didn't have to hold him down- I don't think that I would be able to!
Now with what is new with Kaden ~
He is sitting up all by himself
He can hold his own bottle - I don't get to see this happen that often but I was giving him juice and noticed that he wanted to do it himself, so I let him. He makes a total mess but he loves it!
I think he is teething. I am not sure but this weekend has been horrible! Friday night we were getting him ready for bed and he has had a little runny nose, so we were going to suck it out with that bulb, I know that he hates it but he only cries while we do it and when we are done he is fine. Well, Friday night was different he cried for about an hour he didn't want to eat, he didn't want us to rock him, or walk around with him. Nothing was making this kid happy. Jake went to get some infant Tylenol, we have some but of course when you need it you can't find it anywhere (I used it the day before when he got his shots)! We gave him some of that and put him to bed. He woke up at about 2 and didn't want to eat or anything again. We gave him some teething tablets which seemed to calm him down enough to eat, and then we put him down (after about an hour of him screaming). We had to go through all of this again at 5. Saturday he was a tad bit grouchy in the morning (possibly due to lack of sleep) but was fine most of the day. We started the process all over again at night. I hope that all of this crying is due to teething, it is the worst feeling to not be able to help him or not know what we can do for him. If anybody has any advice I would gladly take it as a first time mom going through the teething experience!

Once again, Another Petersen Adventure!

Jake and I stumbled upon another fun Saturday adventure. We were out garage selling and happen to drive past a dairy farm. There were some young guys holding signs that pointed to a dirt field that said Event Parking, there was a line of cars going in so we decided to follow, we noticed that there was a ton of young families walking over to the farm so we thought that we should also check it out. It happened to be Arizona Agriculture Day. It cost us $2.00 to get in and we could get a lunch for $1. The lunch was awesome it included your choice of a meat sandwich (I got pulled pork), coleslaw, carrots, baked beans, straws of honey, a cookie, and of course milk (I got chocolate)! All the veggies were fresh (they were donated by farms close by). It was so interesting to hear about the milk before it gets into our home. Kaden was so good the whole day, and we decided that Kaden loves to people watch (like his mom)!

Jake says that blowing raspberries makes Kaden smile, I say whats the point if Kaden smiles and I get you doing this in a picture?

I guess that if Jake is going to be blowing raspberries I will just cut him out of the picture! (just kidding Hun!)

Jake and Kaden went through the hay maze. Kaden loved the hay-He wants to feel/eat anything and everything that we let him.

Kaden absolutely loved the cows!

This picture totally looks like he is pointing at the Cows!

Lets go Fly a Kite!

Jake decided that Friday was a perfect day to do yard work. I asked him to watch Kaden for just one second I had to get something done. I yelled for him to bring him to me so I could feed him. I got no response so I looked out the window and saw this!

That's right Jake and Kaden Flying a kite! I ran to get the camera and by the time that I got out there to take pictures this is what has was going on.

The kite had fallen, Jake and Kaden were winding up the string.
Daddy decided that it was a little difficult to get the kite up in the air with a little buddy to help. I decided that I would let Jake have some fun and Kaden could just watch.
Jake was able to get the kite up a lot easier with out Kaden, even though it was funner with him! Jake is such a fun daddy, and I am sure that it will just be getting more fun as Kaden gets bigger!

Oh how I love your Smiles!

I feel that being a mom is one of the best things that has ever happened to me! I love to come home everyday from work and see my boy! He seriously has to be the happiest baby that I have ever seen! There is nothing that can melt my heart more then to see Kaden's huge smile. Jake and I have been so blessed to have Kaden in our lives. Life has never been so good! We love you Kaden with all of our hearts and are so happy that you chose to be with us!

Welcome Baby Olen!!!

My brother and his wife just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Olen Jay. We are so excited and happy for them. He is doing great and I can't wait to meet him in May, when I go to Colorado for the blessing. He has the cutest strawberry blond hair and he is so little. I have already forgotten how little newborns are.
Congratulations Jay and Nicole!!!

Meeting Ginny!

Our Friends Stewart and Shana had their little girl on Thursday, she is so adorable. We were able to take them dinner on Friday, and hang out for a little bit. They are doing so well, I remember the day after I had Kaden and there was no way that I was up and moving like her. It was so much fun to see how Kaden reacted to a little baby.
Kaden was watching her so intently- He would have watched her all night if I was willing to just sit there with him, and if Shana was willing to let her cry (we are all happy that that wasn't going to happen).
We wanted to see the size difference-Jaxon did great just laying there still, and Kaden didn't know what to think of her!
Since Shana had so many fun bows we wanted to try them out on Kaden, we (I) wanted a preview on what our little girl will look like one day! (Jake was not very happy about this!) I thought that Kaden would make a pretty cute little girl, Diamond Backs shirt and all!
Congrats Wilson's
