Kamping with Kaden

Okay Everyone, So I know that I have not been that great about blogging lately (I seem to have lost the desire, or that thinking about blogging makes me sick!) I haven't blogged pretty much all summer, I have done a few here and there but most of the blogs this summer have been by Jake (great job babe)! Since Jake hasn't been in school we have been trying to take advantage of everyday-I get up at 4:45 everyday and get home about 3:00 it seems as though the second I get home from work we have something planned to do my days are crazy right now and I am sure they won't calm down even when he starts school oh well!
Two weeks ago we were able to go on a family camp out with my family, we go every year but since I was so prego last year we didn't get to go. This year we were so excited to be able to take Kaden on his first camping trip, yet so nervous for the long car ride (we were camping in southern Utah) and cold nights! We started out Friday morning at 3 am (which turned into a quarter to 4). Kaden did so well on the drive-We were planning on stopping for an hour or two at Flagstaff and Page, Kaden was doing so well once we got to both of our places to stop we decided to just keep going. We made it to our camping destination in 6 and 1/2 hours which is a record (and we did it with a baby)!
Kaden loved every minute of the day time, we never heard him cry (I don't know if it was being outside the entire day or if it was that he just got passed from one person to the next!) We got this gigantic tent about 2 years ago for Christmas from Jake's parents! Its huge so we haven't had a need for it until now! It was so nice to have all of the room that we could need! we had Kaden's pack in play in it, 2 cots, and a whole side for him to play in!
Kaden was so funny about the dirt! I brought up all of these crap clothes that I didn't care if he crawled around the dirt in, come to find out he hated the dirt! It was so funny he wouldn't leave this tarp- he would get to the very edge and stick his hand over the dirt and then pull it back! (he hates his hands to be dirty just like his daddy)

I got this genius idea to put socks on his hands so he could crawl and not get his hands dirty. Well, that lasted about 2 seconds then he realized that they were socks (and all he wants to do with his socks are take them off- it is no different whether on his feet or hands!)
Jake was able to have a lot of time to fish which made for a nice break for him (even though he didn't catch very many ) A couple of times that he went down fishing Kaden and I decided to go hike around the lake, and one time Kaden was even able to help daddy fish. Kaden through a fit when we took him away from the fishing pole, he loved it!
It was so beautiful everyday we were so happy that we could be there with family.
Kaden loved his bath! We heated up water and let him play as long as he wanted! Like I mentioned earlier Kaden was passed from one person to the next! Thanks to all of my family that helped with Kaden and made the time so enjoyable!
Daniel, Melissa & Kaden
Marshmallow Aunt- Aunt Carrie
And of course Kaden's Favorite person in the world (At times he even beats out daddy!) Walker! Walker was down visiting in Arizona for two weeks before camping, and if Walker was a round Kaden only wanted him! When Walker got tired of holding him he would pass him off and Kaden would scream! There would be times when daddy would take him and he would still not be happy!
Kaden got to experience horses for the first time, when we first took him up to the horse he let a little nervous scream out but never cried. After a few minuets of grandma petting the horse he gave it a try! He loved the horses and couldn't get enough of them! It looks like he doesn't take after his mom in that way ( I do not like horses! They freak me out a little)

I love it when Jake plays Helicopter with Kaden, they are so dang cute!
Here's the whole group minus a few-Kaden (he's taking a nap), Jake (taking the picture)
Here is Kaden taking a nap! He slept in his pack in play during his naps but slept in the trailer with grandma and grandpa during the night because it was too cold. Thanks mom and gene for taking care of Kaden at night and letting Jake and I get a little rest, It was sure nice!

Keep on blogging Laura! Even if you only throw on a pic of Kaden every now and then. It's the only way I keep up with my cousins lives!

I'm right there with you sister! Just the thought of sitting down and composing the blog overwhelms me. Just as long as we do it often enough to be able to recognize the children, that should be enough...right?!
