Petersens In Provo

After camping with Laura's family in Duck Creek we drove up to Provo. Jake's parents and our sister-in-law Courtney were already there. Kaden had not met Jake's Grandma and most of his family up there. It was so much fun to spend a few days in the cool weather and meeting all the family. We took advantage of the cool weather and went on two hikes while we were there. Also while in Provo we were able to attend Jake's childhood friends wedding. We stayed at Granny Pete's house (Jake's Grandma) and when we got there she gave Kaden some bubbles so we went out on the patio and played with them, Kaden loves bubbles.
One of the main reasons for the trip was for Kaden to meet Jake's family. We had dinner at his uncle Brents where Kaden met Jake's cousin Dena and her kids Gunner and Gretta.

While in Provo we went on two hikes that the Petersen's would do every year they went to Utah growing up. Both Laura and Courtney really haven't had a chance to go to Utah to meet family and see the sites. So while we were there we tried to do stuff that Jake's family did growing up. The first was to Stewart Falls which is on Mount Timpanogos. It was such a beautiful hike and it was so much fun to be outside enjoying nature in July. Jake's Parents and Courtney went with us on the hike.

The crew minus Courtney (she is taking the picture) just before we
started the hike. Kaden was so excited to get going he loves to be in his hiking backpack.
However shortly into the hike he fell asleep and slept the whole way in to the falls. I can't believe he stayed asleep it was a pretty bumpy ride.
Jake and Kaden along the way, Kaden is still asleep.
This is us at the base of Stewart Falls and Kaden is still asleep. The falls were so pretty and it was so cool down next to them. The falls are really big just the lower part of the falls is pictured.
The whole crew at the falls.
Kaden finally woke up and enjoyed the fun.
He was still a little tired or he might have been cold.
This is Kadens first taste of Teriyaky flavored beef jerky and he loved it. After the hike we went to another state park called cascade falls it was very beautiful and Kaden just loved being outdoors. The Second hike we went on was to Silver Lake. It was a much tougher hike, so we decided to leave Kaden at Granny Pete's, Yvonne and Courtney volunteered to stay behind and watch him. So just Jake, Laura and Kevin went on this hike. It was such a pretty hike the goal of the hike is to reach a natural mountain lake. It is a pretty steep climb but reaching the goal was well worth it.
Laura and Jake and the beautiful Silver Lake
Laura and Kevin on the way down, isn't that view awesome.
Jake walking through an Aspen grove.
Kaden had a blast on our trip, he got so much attention and love from everyone and he also got to do a lot of new things and some of his favorite things.
Jake's dad loves to feed Kaden yummy things so of course he was the first to give Kaden his first Creamy.
Jake's dad (Poppa Pete) loves to play with Kaden and he will often get down on Kadens level and just play and crawl around with him. He discovered that Kaden loved this little trap, he loved to be bounced on it so Poppa Pete would bounce Kaden forever on it. I guess we need to get one so we can at least get a work out in while playing with Kaden.
This mesh bag pacifier thing is one of the best inventions ever, it allows us to give Kaden things that are a choking hazard. Kaden loves it, this is Kaden eating a hot dog at J Dogs, Jake's dads favorite hot dog shack.
Kaden also loved playing with Granny Pete's walker he loved to get pushed around on it and Granny Pete got a kick out of watching him.
However, this is Kaden's most favorite place in the world, on top of daddy's shoulders. He loves to use daddy's ears as handles.
Kaden loves to swing and Poppa Pete loves to push him.
Jake has a summer birthday so his birthday was always in Utah every year till he was 16. Every year on his birthday his Grandma and Grandpa Pete would take him to Chuck-A-Rama an all you can eat buffet, because they loved to watch him eat, they thought that he just ate forever. Well, it just so happened that we were in Utah on Jake's birthday so his Grandma took him out (and the rest of the family) to Chuck-A-Rama.

This is Kaden and his three generations of family. It was so nice to get a 4 generation picture.
Playing in Granny Pete's backyard.
Kaden still does not like the grass, it is so funny he would not leave this mat.
Kaden at the Flagstaff mall play area.
Kaden did such a good job of traveling on this trip, the drive home from Provo is about 12 hours, we made it all the way to Flagstaff with out stopping and not a peep from Kaden so we got him out and rewarded him by letting him play for a while at the mall.
We had such a fun time in Provo but it would not have been as much fun without the extra help. We want to give a special thanks to Courtney and Yvonne for all there help, and especial to Courtney for helping us on the drive home.

It makes me tired just to read your blogging adventures. That's awesome that you guys are so ambitious. Kaden's gotta love it!

Terrific pictures of the family. How's the grass touching going? He still looks a bit reluctant.
